FOUR HOUSES OF THE SCHOOL
Bhagat House:
Motto: Success Through ABC (Ability, Bravery & Courage)
Colour : Blue
The house is named in the honour of Lieutenant General P.S. Bhagat, PVSM, VC. He
was also known as "The Soldiers' General". Born on 13th Oct. 1918 he did his
schooling from RIMC, Dehradun. He was commissioned in the year 1939 after
passing out from IMA, Dehradun. He led the Engineers Corps and was bestowed with
Victoria Cross, Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM).
Cariappa House (My House):
Motto: Live To Serve
Colour : Green
The house is named in the honour of Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, OBE, the first
Indian Commander-in-Chief and also the Chief of Army Staff from 15th June 1949 to
14th Jan 1953. He was born on 28th Jan 1900 in Madikeri, Coorg. He completed his
school education from Central High School, Madikeri and graduated from Presidency
College, Madras, RMC, Sandhurst. Commissioned in the year 1918, Field Marshal
K.M. Cariappa led the Rajput Regiment (Infantry). He was Awarded "Officer of the
Order of the British Empire"
Manekshaw House (Sister's House + Rival House):
Motto: Higher, Faster, Stronger
Colour : Red
The house is named in the honour of Field Marshal S.H.F.J. Manekshaw, MC.
He was the hero of 1971 war with Pakistan and was also the COAS from
8th June 1969 to 15th Jan 1973. He was born on 3rd April 1914 in Amritsar and
completed his schooling from Sherwood College, Nanital. He was commissioned in
the year 1934 after passing out from IMA, Dehradun. He led 08 Gorkha Rifles
(Infantry) and was bestowed with Military Cross, Padma Vibhushan.
Thimayya House:
Motto: Duty Before Pleasure
Colour : Yellow
The house is named in the honour of General K.S.Thimayya, DSO. He was India's
"Most Popular General". He was the Chief of Amry Staff from the year 8th May 1957 to
7th May 1961. He was born on 31st March 1906 in Mercara, Coorg. He did his
schooling from St. Joseph's College, Coonoor and graduated from PWRIMC,
Dehradun, RMC, Sandhurst. He was commissioned in the year 1926 and led the
Kumaon Regiment (Infantry). He was awarded with Distinguished Service Order
(DSO).

Every nation owns a leader,
honoured more than all the rest.

Glorious Lord and dearest maker,
